Beryl Wells Hamilton (beryl) > "Dunes," 1992, Stainless steel and Bronze (private collection)
Beryl Wells Hamilton (beryl) > Beryl Wells Hamilton (that's me on the left!) has been an artist since 1977. She is a master metal-worker (after working in stainless steel for thirty years, everything else comes easy!) and has built many large and small sculptures in steel, bronze, brass, copper, and stainless steel.

She worked as assistant and partner with well-known Midwest sculptor Charles Huntington for many years, assisting him in the fabrication of sculptures as large as 20 feet tall, and displayed all over the Midwest, including Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and General Mills in Minneapolis, MN.

From 1978-1983, Beryl taught bronze casting and welding at the Art Center of Minnesota in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Beryl has shown her work throughout the area, including a show at Wilensky Arts, a local artists cooperative in Minneapolis.

Beryl has participated in artist-in-residence programs in area schools and local parks. Her work is represented in private and public collections.

Beryl loves her Celtic roots, which gives her a love for loopy things and teeny tiny details. She has created a series of Celtic lluminated Manuscript pieces in the style of the Book of Kells and the Lindisfarne Gospels.

For ten years, Beryl lived in the Wisconsin countryside, where she planted a prairie, raised animals, had a large garden, worked in a local nursing home, and continued to do her artwork.

Beryl presently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her cat, Elizabeth. She has spent many hours studying the Lake Superior shore from Duluth to Grand Marais.

Her copper works are inspired by her love for animals and her love for water that moves. Her stainless steel sculptures are inspired by the beauty of Minnesota’s North Shore, and Wisconsin’s prairie landscapes and wildlife. Beryl's work can be seen at Last Chance Gallery in Lutsen, Minnesota.
